Spicy cultural facts: France
There’s something about France 🇫🇷 that feels… different when it comes to love, secs, and desire.
It’s less about rules and over-explaining,
and more about energy, nuance, and what’s left unsaid.
Here’s some things I learned on my trip to Paris 🇫🇷 with the @sexualhealthalliance :
🥖47% of French say affairs are morally wrong… vs 84% in the US 👀
There’s a more relaxed cultural attitude toward moral judgment in relationships—less rigid, more context-based, less black and white.
🥖Flirting is a slow burn, subtle tension > direct intention
It’s not about saying everything clearly. It’s about eye contact, timing, tone… and letting things unfold slowly.
🥖 Secs is not sensationalized, it’s subtle and natural.
It’s not treated like something shocking or overly dramatic. It’s more woven into life, without the loud cultural performance around it.
🥖 Too much talking can kill the vibe
This is very different from what we’re used to in the West, where “over-consent” and constant verbal checking is becoming the norm. It raises an interesting question: does this create more safety and clarity… or does it interrupt natural chemistry? In France, it seems to lean more toward trusting the moment. What do you think?
🥖 Seduction is built over time… not rushed
It’s less instant gratification, more anticipation. A slow build of tension, restraint, and curiosity.
It’s not better. Not worse. Just different!
That’s why I love learning about cross-cultural perspectives around the world! It changes the way you see yourself and your relationships. It enriches you and broadens your perspective 😉 so you can live a fuller life!
