Why I take a solo trip for my birthday

It’s a long standing tradition of mine that I go on a solo- trip to celebrate my birthday 🎉.

I’ve gotten feedback in the past from people saying: “oh… that’s so sad, are you ok?” And that makes me laugh every time!😂

Also for a lot of people, travelling solo while you have a partner is just not something you do… because once you’re in a couple, you’re NEVER ALLOWED to travel without them again 😅😂

Well, if you need permission from someone, you have mine! To go spend time with yourself and get lost somewhere exciting! ☺️

I usually book retreats because they are SO soul fulfilling and you can spend time alone OR choose to spend it with people who are there for very similar reasons as you ☺️

This is, it was last minute. I knew I wanted to book a surf camp because I wanted to learn, and so I booked the retreat that was the cheapest but gave me the most value, and it happened to be in Tamaraght, Morocco.

I was going in blind, as I usually do when I travel 🙈. Didn’t really know what to expect. It was my second time in Morocco but that was over 10 years ago so couldn’t even remember.

And I was pleasantly surprised to find myself at @tamraghtsurfhouse which ended up being an unforgettable experience!

The host, the staff, the beaches, surf, vibe, food, conversations, people and everything else about 🇲🇦has made me fall in love. It has become a place I most definitely want to spend more time of life in ☺️.

It was a wonderful, nurturing, growing, fun, exciting and adventurous birthday experience and I was very happy to celebrate my 39th there!

Can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
