Are women less monogamous than men?

Sex ed 🎓Relationships 💞

ALL MY PEOPLE READ CAPTION ✨✨✨👇👇👇

Alright friends… this little nugget of information hit home for me.

I first read about this concept in a book called “untrue” by Wednesday Martin (great book about breaking myths of female seggsuality) and it BLEW MY MIND!!!

It made me have a big AH-HA 💡moment when it came to understanding my wants, needs, desires and seggsuality.

I’ve noticed myself over time, craving more novelty, change, exploration and dynamic intimacy than before. And I was thinking to myself… what’s going on!?!!

And my partner… Well sure, something new and shiny is always nice. But he can definitely turn it on at any given time if I am offering it to him 🫠😅

Could the above theory explain it?

There are actually a few other fun theories that exist which try to explain why women may perhaps be less monogamous than men…

One theory argues that ancestral women benefited from multiple sexual partners, not just for genetic diversity in offspring, but for social support, resource access, and protection. Making strict monogamy less evolutionary advantageous for women than once assumed…🤔

I’m curious about YOU though? Can you relate? Have you ever even thought about it in this way?
