The Museum of Broken Relationships
Discovered the Museum Of Broken Relationships @brokenshipsth 💔 today. And…WOW. 🥹🥺
It started as a simple idea between two artists after their breakup, what do you do with the objects left behind when a relationship ends? Instead of throwing them away, they created a space where people from all over the world could donate these items… along with the stories attached to them.
Walking through, you feel everything at once, sadness, nostalgia, laughter, even disbelief. Some stories are heavy (like heart wrenching heavy 😩☹️) others oddly comforting, and some are unexpectedly funny.
There’s a “confession room” where you can sit, reflect, and even leave a piece of your own story. I took a moment there… read a few, and wrote something of my own too.
There were so many good stories! I only took pictures of a few of them. Make sure you pause and read the “ex-axe” story 😅It honestly made me laugh out loud.
Another, written on a simple postcard, completely broke me. 🥺
It’s strange how heartbreak can look so different—and yet feel so universal.
Definitely worth a visit. They have permanent museums in Zagreb and Chiang Mai, plus exhibitions that travel around the world 🌍
