The Erotic Garden in Chiang Mai

I always try to find something a little er0t!k when I travel… and the Erotic Garden in Chiang Mai definitely delivered.

The fabulous owner (legit one of the most fabulous humans I ever met 😆), often called the Queen of Erotica in Thailand 🇹🇭, personally guided us through her garden reminding us that seggsuality exists everywhere in nature. Flowers🌺, fruit 🍉 , pollination… life itself begins through the union of masculine and feminine. Nothing shameful about it. It’s literally how the world works.

Interesting cultural fact I learned ✨the English word “er0t!k” doesn’t really exist in Thai. The language tends to describe things more indirectly, using words that mean romantic, sensual, or sexual, but there isn’t a direct equivalent for er0t!l the way we use it in English (this also goes for words like romantic or seggsy)

So when she first opened the garden, many people assumed the sign must have meant “Exotic Garden.” Some even changed the R to an X because they thought she had simply misspelled it and could absolutely NOT have meant er0t!k because that would be blasphemy! 😱

Turns out… she knew exactly what she was doing. 😉
